LJUBLJANA GREEN BIKE TOUR

The Ljubljana Green Bike Tour examines the city from an ecological perspective, tracing how sustainability, environmental planning, and community-based initiatives shape Ljubljana’s urban life.

By bicycle, participants explore green corridors, public spaces, and neighbourhoods where environmental policies intersect with everyday practices, cultural production, and social responsibility.

Moving beyond celebratory narratives, the tour contextualises Ljubljana’s reputation as a “green capital” within broader ecological challenges facing Slovenia today — including climate change, urban growth, and resource management.

Through critical interpretation, this bike-based programme highlights how municipal strategies, grassroots initiatives, NGOs, and small businesses collectively negotiate environmental futures.

In short, if you’re interested in ecological urban design, green and blue infrastructure systems, and sustainable transport planning, this is the bike tour for you.
